A Star-Studded Sci-Fi Adventure Set in a ’90s Alternate Reality
Netflix has dropped the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film The Electric State, starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt. From directors Anthony and Joe Russo, the movie whisks viewers into an imagined alternate 1990s, mingling analog with advanced robots. The film will arrive on Netflix on March 14, 2025.
A Glimpse into the Story
Based on the graphic novel by Simon Stålenhag, The Electric State follows Michelle, a young girl traveling across a dystopian America in hope of finding her missing brother. With the help of a mysterious robot and a drifter played by Chris Pratt, Michelle navigates a world where technology has decayed, and what were once powerful machines are but relics of a bygone era.

The film has an ensemble cast consisting of:
Ke Huy Quan – Fresh from the Oscars, in a supporting role of a kooky inventor.
Jason Alexander – In a very unusual role of being the bad guy.
Stanley Tucci – voicing one of the sentient robots.
Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt keep the chemistry going, with the trailer filled with action-packed sequences, emotional moments, and plenty of robot encounters.
