Wednesday” Season 2 Should Explore the Struggle of This Character With Their Power

Expectations are building for the much-awaited return of the hit series, *Wednesday*, and fans are eager to see what this season has in store for its characters—the supernatural abilities of course. The first season mainly offered up personal development with Wednesday Addams, her psychic visions, and her time at Nevermore Academy; a much deeper exploration of another character’s struggle with their power would probably be seen in the next season.

Enid Sinclair: The Wolf Struggle Continues

One character whom it might be fun to center an arc around is Wednesday’s bubbly werewolf roommate, Enid Sinclair. While Enid’s season 1 storyline involved not being able to “wolf out” like the rest of her family, season 2 would be an excellent time to work through the difficult implications of her lycanthrope transformation.

By the end of the first season, Enid was finally able to transform into a wolf in order to save Wednesday from the Hyde monster. But this could only be the start of her fight. The change from the incomplete transformation during season 1 may well be followed by unexpected side effects—physical and emotional alike. Deepening Enid’s character can be the working of her struggles to contain the new ability.

The Psychological Cost

In season 2, it then becomes pretty easy for the writers to explore how the newfound power impacts Enid’s day-to-day life in Nevermore. At this point, having cheered for her epic change into a werewolf, the experience might not be as glitzy as everybody expects. Even so, there is a potential struggle with the time and control when and how she transforms, easily causing problems in relation to her relationship, especially with Wednesday who does not get worried about emotional drama.

Balancing the pressure of being a werewolf with her usual brightness would create some great inner conflict. Fear of losing control that Enid endures feeds into a much bigger theme for the season, showing that controlling strong powers is incredibly challenging in the supernatural world.

Possible Storylines

Many avenues will be made for making her battle with her werewolfness all too real. Perhaps she just experiences a series of inexplicable transformations at times when she least wants to, and now her life is thrust into a fight with her friendships or her position at Nevermore Academy. Maybe Enid tries to find mentorship from other werewolves coming out of experience, only to then realize that as an exception her way won’t be quite like theirs.

The struggle of Enid may bring her closer to Wednesday as well, and perhaps give opportunities for character development in both friendships and personal growth. Wednesday, most often patronizing emotion in favor of logic, finds herself supporting Enid. This brings in some new dimensions to their relationship.

Expansion of the Supernatural Universe

*Wednesday* promises to delve deeper into the supernatural world in its season 2; what it realizes about Enid’s inability to understand her werewolf status supposed to carry themes about acceptance, individuality, and the challenges of fitting in-the one key element that resonated with fans in season 1.

As  readies itself for its sophomore season, perhaps Enid’s journey to mastering her werewolf powers may become the most poignant, compelling story for this character, giving her more of a role in the narrative and more of a connection to the darker and more complex parts of being supernatural.

Fans are already anticipating how the series will develop the foundations set in season 1, and one of the most promising plotlines comes from Enid Sinclair and her fight to gain mastery over her werewolf ability.
