Victims of Cash App data breach have up to November 18, 2024, to file their claims for an equal share of a $15 million settlement. The settlement is about security lapses that allowed access to accounts without authorization. These lapses include incidents such as the recycling of phone numbers to compromise accounts.
In other words, qualified applicants are reimbursed for after-hours out-of-pocket expenses that do not exceed $2,500 and out-of-pocket time loss which is at least $25 per hour, to a maximum of 3 hours. Claims for fraudulent transactions or accounts have the need to prove.
The data misuse by a former employee starting in 2022 has since impacted many users accounts. Block, Inc., parent of Cash App, had been notified of the issue and agreed to settle the class action lawsuit.
Class Action Claim Form:
Claims must be filed online or mailed to the given address before November 18. The lawsuit had earlier provided a final right to opt out or object until 1st November, 2024.
The final settlement is thus likely to be approved as scheduled on 16th December, 2024. The claims will be made available immediately after the approval.
