Johnson Urges Bold Action for Ukraine’s Future
Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has proposed a $500 billion loan to Ukraine and called for a clear timeline for the country’s NATO membership. He believes these actions are essential to end the war and secure Ukraine’s place in the global order.
Marking the upcoming 1,000th day since Russia’s invasion, Johnson stressed the urgency of decisive measures to bolster Ukraine’s security and economy.
$500 Billion Loan for Ukraine’s Victory

While Johnson called for bold measures, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell admitted delays in supporting Ukraine. On 18 November, Borrell criticized the EU’s sluggish decision-making regarding military and energy assistance.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged European leaders to commemorate the 1,000th day of Ukraine’s resistance with new aid packages. These measures, Sybiha stressed, are vital for maintaining Ukraine’s resilience.

Johnson welcomed US President Joe Biden’s approval of ATACMS missiles for Ukraine, highlighting the significance of this decision in countering Russian aggression. He called on NATO allies to align their support with the US by providing advanced weaponry to Ukraine.
