Garth Brooks Announces Move to Ireland Amid Sexual Abuse Allegations

In a surprising turn of events, country music legend Garth Brooks has announced plans to move to Ireland, a decision emerging as he faces serious sexual abuse allegations. Brooks, 62, shared that he and his wife, fellow country star Trisha Yearwood, are considering relocating to the Emerald Isle, a country that holds special significance for them. During a recent episode of his Facebook Live series Studio G, Brooks opened up about how his wife, whom he affectionately calls “The Queen,” fell deeply in love with Ireland during his 2022 tour there.

“We played two weekends, so we went on that stint across the country, and everyone was so sweet to her,” Brooks shared, describing the warm welcome Yearwood received from Irish fans. The singer has maintained a large fanbase in Ireland since the 1990s, with his 2022 concerts reigniting enthusiasm for his music across the country.

This relocation decision coincides with recent legal trouble for Brooks. In early October, a makeup artist who previously worked with Yearwood filed a claim in California, alleging that Brooks assaulted her during a 2019 trip to Los Angeles. Known only as “Jane Roe,” the plaintiff claims that Brooks took her to Los Angeles for a Grammy event honoring R&B legend Sam Moore and that he arranged a single hotel suite for the two of them. She alleges that Brooks refused to provide separate accommodations, using the situation to commit the alleged assault.

Brooks has vehemently denied the allegations, which he dismissed as a “hush money shakedown.” Speaking with the Daily Mail, he stated, “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars.” He continued, “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of—ugly acts no human should ever do to another.”

The move to Ireland may signify a fresh chapter for Brooks, as he and Yearwood look to settle in a country they both love. However, the allegations and ensuing legal battle cast a shadow over the couple’s plans.
