Woman charged for having sex with student: Prosecutor’s office

A now-former St. Xavier High School employee has been indicted for having a sexual relationship with a teen student, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Emily Nutley, 42, is charged with six counts of sexual battery, the prosecutor’s office announced Monday.

Nutley was a teacher/instructor who supervised a program to help students struggling with academics at St. Xavier, the prosecutor’s office explained.

The teen victim was assigned to the program and began working with Nutley on academic matters in the 2023 fall semester, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Nutley then started having additional contact with the student outside of school hours, the prosecutor’s office said.

The 42-year-old St. Xavier school employee sent the teen nude photos, texts and sexually explicit messages, the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office explained.

Multiple encounters and a sexual relationship between Nutley and the teen started in mid-November 2023, Monday’s announcement from the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office said.

The sexual encounters happened at least one time on St. Xavier High School‘s campus, including in Nutley’s office, and away from school property, the prosecutor’s office explained.

Attempts to stop the encounters were made by the student, but Nutley continued to text the teen, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office explained.

An internal investigation by St. Xavier High School led to them contacting Springfield Township police, who launched their own investigation into the allegations.
