A Musical Bond with Folky Origins
Childhood friends and celebrities around Hollywood, Riley Keough and Dakota Johnson began long ago in creative collaboration and took their first steps with the lighthearted project band, Folky Porn, formed during their own teenagers. This fun personal side project was the playground on which the two friends indulged in harmonies and attempted covering Hank Williams and John Prine among others Johnson sang with her brother for that matter.
While Folky Porn wasn’t exactly a film made for mainstream, the shoot is an epitome of how intense the friendship and artistic connection are. That has helped to guide each other’s careers long after. Riley is nominated for an Emmy as a singer in Daisy Jones & The Six and is next set to star with Dakota in an upcoming film. This movie will take off the housemates and as life unfolds, to be true, and they along with Riley and Dakota will be lead to play roles and serve as executive producers in this film.
