Police chiefs called for calm, saying there was no immediate danger to the public from the incident. However, they asked for anyone with information to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.
Authorities have so far not released the name of the victim or the cause of death, pending more investigations and notification of the victim’s family. Police in Halifax have made no assumptions yet regarding the incident, given that it is still at an early stage, and are now awaiting the autopsy results to ascertain whether it was foul play or a natural death.
