The franchise Subnautica keeps on dishing out waves in the world of gaming as it announced the sequel, Subnautica 2, scheduled to arrive in early access in 2025. The developer, Unknown Worlds Entertainment, was joined by publisher Krafton in dishing out more exciting details about this much-awaited sequel at the Xbox Partner Preview event.
New Features and Gameplay Highlights:
Subnautica 2 will take the players through settings outside of Planet 4546B and in new and scintillating environments. For the first time in the history of the game, this one will include optional multiplayer and it will host four players. Still, the gameplay will find its audiences who alone prefer playing it.
As for visuals, the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, which promises even higher quality visuals and a more detailed underwater world. The new setting will also attract players to enhanced base-building mechanics, new vehicles, and many new alien creatures-all of which add up to immense intrigue and mystery of a new setting.
Game as a Service Model and Early Access
Fears did arise during the declaration of Subnautica 2 as a “Game as a Service” title, but developers made it very clear the model wouldn’t include season passes, battle passes, or subscription models. Rather, the focus would be on continuous content updates, much like the same early access model where players had a hand in shaping previous titles, such as Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero.
Availability and Community Engagement on Platforms
Subnautica 2 will be released in Xbox Game Preview and come to Xbox Game Pass from day one. It will also be playable on Windows PCs and Xbox Series X|S, all ways with a focus on the community’s feedback during early access. They’ve been very engaged in meeting the needs of the sub-community from the first day and they will continue to do so in the early-access period.
Conclusion: An Adventure Full of Promise End
Subnautica 2 will bring a treat into the game industry with great environments, along with multiplayer options and ongoing updates. Since the early access release is scheduled for 2025, a lot more information and teasers will come out, which will make everyone all the more excited about this underwater adventure.
