October 2024: Essex Woman Convicted of Killing Parents, Living with Corpses in Their Home for Weeks. A judge has convicted a woman in Essex to life imprisonment for murdering her parents and then keeping their bodies in the house where she had been living with them for several weeks. The quiet residential area where the violent crime occurred was just starting to show signs of suspicion from neighbors who hadn’t seen the elderly couple around for some time. Investigators discovered the bodies after making a welfare check on the property, taking the daughter into custody at the scene. This was a disturbing case as the woman had no remorse for what had happened.
That is how the murders were discovered when McCullough’s parents failed to attend several appointments with a doctor, forcing their GPs to make alarm. Police entered her home in Essex by force on 15 September 2023 and after self-incrimination over the killings that she had carried on for years.
She had been lying to doctors and family members that her parents were ill or away on holiday. According to bodycam footage, she calmly admitted her guilt, saying, “I knew this would come eventually,” and, chillingly, “Cheer up, at least you caught the bad guy.”
Updates on the case will come out in bits as there is still much to reveal.
